M.H.K Biomechanics | H.B.Sc(Kin)
Sara completed a Master of Human Kinetics in Biomechanics at the University of Windsor after finishing her Honours Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at McMaster University. While at McMaster, Sara administered gait training sessions and movement therapy using body weight supported treadmills and other assistive modalities to populations including those with spinal cord injury and Multiple Sclerosis. Realizing the benefits of using technology to aid with exercise prescription, Sara continued to explore these methods during her Master’s degree. While at the University of Windsor, Sara continued to gain experience using technology to test and analyze athletic performance using advanced tools to capture full body kinetics and kinematics.
Sara’s research interests are in reducing injury risk and improving athletic performance using an in depth analysis of movement patterns, and wishes to extend this type of research to athletes with and without physical disabilities.
In her spare time, Sara finds a delicate balance between exercising and binging reality TV. She thinks she would be an excellent contestant on Survivor if only she didn’t have such distaste for being cold.
